* Produce .weak_def_can_be_hidden for some linkonce_odr valuesRafael Espindola2013-10-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | With this patch llvm produces a weak_def_can_be_hidden for linkonce_odr if they are also unnamed_addr or don't have their address taken. There is not a lot of documentation about .weak_def_can_be_hidden, but from the old discussion about linkonce_odr_auto_hide and the name of the directive this looks correct: these symbols can be hidden. Testing this with the ld64 in Xcode 5 linking clang reduces the number of exported symbols from 21053 to 19049. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@193718 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Make AsmPrinter::emitImplicitDef a virtual method so targets can emit custom ↵Justin Holewinski2013-10-111-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | comments for implicit defs For NVPTX, this fixes a crash where the emitImplicitDef implementation was expecting physical registers, while NVPTX uses virtual registers (with a couple of exceptions). Now, the implicit def comment will be emitted as a true PTX register name. Other targets can use this to customize the output of implicit def comments. Fixes PR17519 git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@192444 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
* Add an instruction deprecation feature to TableGen.Joey Gouly2013-09-121-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The 'Deprecated' class allows you to specify a SubtargetFeature that the instruction is deprecated on. The 'ComplexDeprecationPredicate' class allows you to define a custom predicate that is called to check for deprecation. For example: ComplexDeprecationPredicate<"MCR"> would mean you would have to define the following function: bool getMCRDeprecationInfo(MCInst &MI, MCSubtargetInfo &STI, std::string &Info) Which returns 'false' for not deprecated, and 'true' for deprecated and store the warning message in 'Info'. The MCTargetAsmParser constructor was chaned to take an extra argument of the MCInstrInfo class, so out-of-tree targets will need to be changed. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@190598 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* DebugInfo: PR14763/r183329 correct the location of indirect parametersDavid Blaikie2013-06-191-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We had been papering over a problem with location info for non-trivial types passed by value by emitting their type as references (this caused the debugger to interpret the location information correctly, but broke the type of the function). r183329 corrected the type information but lead to the debugger interpreting the pointer parameter as the value - the debug info describing the location needed an extra dereference. Use a new flag in DIVariable to add the extra indirection (either by promoting an existing DW_OP_reg (parameter passed in a register) to DW_OP_breg + 0 or by adding DW_OP_deref to an existing DW_OP_breg + n (parameter passed on the stack). git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@184368 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Remove the MachineMove class.Rafael Espindola2013-05-131-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | It was just a less powerful and more confusing version of MCCFIInstruction. A side effect is that, since MCCFIInstruction uses dwarf register numbers, calls to getDwarfRegNum are pushed out, which should allow further simplifications. I left the MachineModuleInfo::addFrameMove interface unchanged since this patch was already fairly big. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@181680 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

Solves the problem of a module with no triple on the command line and no triple in the module using non-gdb ok features on darwin. Fix up the member-pointers test to check the correct things for cross platform (DW_FORM_flag is a good prefix). Unfortunately no testcase because I have no ideas how to test something without a triple and without a triple in the module yet check precisely on two platforms. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | into their new header subdirectory: include/llvm/IR. This matches the directory structure of lib, and begins to correct a long standing point of file layout clutter in LLVM. There are still more header files to move here, but I wanted to handle them in separate commits to make tracking what files make sense at each layer easier. The only really questionable files here are the target intrinsic tablegen files. But that's a battle I'd rather not fight today. I've updated both CMake and Makefile build systems (I think, and my tests think, but I may have missed something). I've also re-sorted the includes throughout the project. I'll be committing updates to Clang, DragonEgg, and Polly momentarily. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@171366 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

* Allow the use of an alternate symbol for calculating a function's size.Hal Finkel2012-02-221-0/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The standard function epilog includes a .size directive, but ppc64 uses an alternate local symbol to tag the actual start of each function. Until recently, binutils accepted the .size directive as: .size test1, .Ltmp0-test1 however, using this directive with recent binutils will result in the error: .size expression for XXX does not evaluate to a constant so we must use the label which actually tags the start of the function. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@151200 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
