From f23d0d392ab47e191e1bbd17dc7487b9d461485c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Nick Lewycky Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2008 06:39:12 +0000 Subject: Resubmit support for the 'nocapture' attribute. The problematic part of this patch is that we were out of attribute bits, requiring some fancy bit hacking to make it fit (by shrinking alignment) without breaking existing users or the file format. This change will require users to rebuild llvm-gcc to match llvm. git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/trunk@61239 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8 --- docs/LangRef.html | 12 +++++++++--- include/llvm/Attributes.h | 39 ++++++++++++++++++++++++------------- lib/Analysis/BasicAliasAnalysis.cpp | 23 ++++++++++++++++------ test/Analysis/BasicAA/nocapture.ll | 14 +++++++++++++ 4 files changed, 66 insertions(+), 22 deletions(-) create mode 100644 test/Analysis/BasicAA/nocapture.ll diff --git a/docs/LangRef.html b/docs/LangRef.html index 83bd667..95fb8de 100644 --- a/docs/LangRef.html +++ b/docs/LangRef.html @@ -894,9 +894,15 @@ declare signext i8 @returns_signed_char() parameter. This indicates that the callee does not make any copies of the pointer + that outlive the callee itself. This is not a valid attribute for return + values.
