* [PATCH] Fix "value computed is not used" compile warnings with gcc-4.1Takashi Iwai2006-02-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Fix gcc4.1 compile warnings "value computed is not used" with set_current_state() and set_task_state() on i386/SMP and x86-64. * [PATCH] x86_64: Fix VSMP buildRavikiran G Thirumalai2006-01-161-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Patch fixes a build problem with CONFIG_X86_VSMP. The vSMP bits probably gathered some fuzz on its way to mainline, and safe_halt() which was outside the #endif (CONFIG_X86_VSMP) somehow got inside the !CONFIG_X86_VSMP condition, hence being undefined and breaking CONFIG_X86_VSMP builds. Patch takes safe_halt() and halt() macros out of the #endif Signed-off-by: Ravikiran Thirumalai <kiran@scalex86.org> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] sched: add cacheflush() asmIngo Molnar2006-01-121-0/+9
| | | | | | | | | | Add per-arch sched_cacheflush() which is a write-back cacheflush used by the migration-cost calibration code at bootup time. * [PATCH] x86_64: Inclusion of ScaleMP vSMP architecture patches - vsmp_archRavikiran G Thirumalai2006-01-111-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce vSMP arch to the kernel. This patch: 1. Adds CONFIG_X86_VSMP 2. Adds machine specific macros for local_irq_disabled, local_irq_enabled and irqs_disabled 3. Writes to the vSMP CTL device to indicate kernel compiled with CONFIG_VSMP Signed-off-by: Ravikiran Thirumalai <kiran@scalemp.com> Signed-off-by: Shai Fultheim <shai@scalemp.com> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] x86_64: don't save eflags in x86-64 switch_to()Benjamin LaHaise2006-01-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | As discussed, the flags register on x86-64 is saved and restored by the assembly code which sets up struct pt_regs, so we do not need to save and restore it in the inline assembler which already informs gcc that we're clobbering the flags. This patch has been sanity booted and works okay here. * [PATCH] x86_64: Remove enable/disable_hltAndi Kleen2006-01-111-7/+0
| | | | | | | | Was only used by the floppy driver to work around some ancient hardware bug that should never occur on any 64bit system. Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] cpu hotplug/x86_64: disable interrupt in play_deadShaohua Li2006-01-061-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | With physical CPU hotplug, the CPU is hot removed and it should not receive any interrupts. Disabling interrupt is much safer. This basically is what we do in ia64 & x86. * [PATCH] x86-64: Lose constraints on cmpxchgJan Beulich2005-09-121-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | While only cosmetic for x86-64, this adjusts the cmpxchg code appearantly inherited from i386 to use more generic constraints. Signed-off-by: Jan Beulich <jbeulich@novell.com> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] Replace extern inline with static inline in asm-x86_64/*Adrian Bunk2005-09-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | They should be identical in the kernel now, but this makes it consistent with other code. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
