* ARM: implement support for read-mostly sectionsRussell King2010-12-051-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | As our SMP implementation uses MESI protocols. Grouping together data which is mostly only read together means that we avoid unnecessary cache line bouncing when this code shares a cache line with other data. In other words, cache lines associated with read-mostly data are expected to spend most of their time in shared state. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* dma-mapping: rename ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN to ARCH_DMA_MINALIGNFUJITA Tomonori2010-08-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now each architecture has the own dma_get_cache_alignment implementation. dma_get_cache_alignment returns the minimum DMA alignment. Architectures define it as ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN (it's used to make sure that malloc'ed buffer is DMA-safe; the buffer doesn't share a cache with the others). So we can unify dma_get_cache_alignment implementations. This patch: dma_get_cache_alignment() needs to know if an architecture defines ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN or not (needs to know if architecture has DMA alignment restriction). However, slab.h define ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN if architectures doesn't define it. Let's rename ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN to ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN. ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN is used only in the internals of slab/slob/slub (except for crypto). * ARM: 5700/1: ARM: Introduce ARM_L1_CACHE_SHIFT to define cache line sizeKirill A. Shutemov2009-09-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Currently kernel believes that all ARM CPUs have L1_CACHE_SHIFT == 5. It's not true at least for CPUs based on Cortex-A8. List of CPUs with cache line size != 32 should be expanded later. Signed-off-by: Kirill A. Shutemov <kirill@shutemov.name> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* [ARM] 5534/1: kmalloc must return a cache line aligned bufferMartin Fuzzey2009-06-021-0/+16
| | | | | | | | Define ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN in asm/cache.h At the request of Russell also move ARCH_SLAB_MINALIGN to this file. Signed-off-by: Martin Fuzzey <mfuzzey@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* [ARM] move include/asm-arm to arch/arm/include/asmRussell King2008-08-021-0/+10
Move platform independent header files to arch/arm/include/asm, leaving those in asm/arch* and asm/plat* alone. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
