| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that everyone has been able to test the async code (and it's being used in the Moblin betas by default), we can enable it by default. The various fixes needed have gone into 2.6.29 already. [With an important bugfix from Stefan Richter] Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com>

Callers assume simple_set_mnt() never fails and don't properly cleanup if it were to _ever_ fail. For instance, get_sb_single() and get_sb_nodev() should: up_write(sb->s_unmount); deactivate_super(sb); if simple_set_mnt() fails. Since simple_set_mnt() never fails, would be cleaner if it did not return anything. | * | percpu, module: implement reserved allocation and use it for module percpu ↵Tejun Heo2009-03-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | variables Impact: add reserved allocation functionality and use it for module percpu variables This patch implements reserved allocation from the first chunk. When setting up the first chunk, arch can ask to set aside certain number of bytes right after the core static area which is available only through a separate reserved allocator. This will be used primarily for module static percpu variables on architectures with limited relocation range to ensure that the module perpcu symbols are inside the relocatable range. If reserved area is requested, the first chunk becomes reserved and isn't available for regular allocation. If the first chunk also includes piggy-back dynamic allocation area, a separate chunk mapping the same region is created to serve dynamic allocation. The first one is called static first chunk and the second dynamic first chunk. Although they share the page map, their different area map initializations guarantee they serve disjoint areas according to their purposes. If arch doesn't setup reserved area, reserved allocation is handled like any other allocation. Signed-off-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org>

This is the second half of the changes to make the irq_desc_ptrs be variable sized based on nr_cpu_ids. This is done by adding a new "max_nr_irqs" macro to irq_vectors.h (and a dummy in irqnr.h) to return a max NR_IRQS value based on NR_CPUS or nr_cpu_ids. This necessitated moving the define of MAX_IO_APICS to a separate file (asm/apicnum.h) so it could be included without the baggage of the other asm/apicdef.h declarations. Replace the affinity and pending_masks with cpumask_var_t's. This adds to the significant size reduction done with the SPARSE_IRQS changes. The added functions (init_alloc_desc_masks & init_copy_desc_masks) are in the include file so they can be inlined (and optimized out for the !CONFIG_CPUMASKS_OFFSTACK case.) [Naming chosen to be consistent with the other init*irq functions, as well as the backwards arg declaration of "from, to" instead of the more common "to, from" standard.] Includes a slight change to the declaration of struct irq_desc to embed the pending_mask within ifdef(CONFIG_SMP) to be consistent with other references, and some small changes to Xen.
