It takes an 'int' for historical reasons, and there are only two
users: simply switch it over to bool.
The other user (uvesafb.c) will get a (harmless-on-x86) warning until
the next patch is applied.

A hardware cursor is left enabled in the fb_set_par() which is called when a
new console is created. This is inconsistent with software cursor's
behaviour.
Also, this makes a hardware cursor always visible in the Xfbdev (Xorg kdrive)
server.

This fixes a regression introduced when we switched to using the core
pci_set_power_state(). The chip seems to need the state to be written
over and over again until it sticks, so we do that.
Note that the code is a bit blunt, without timeout, etc... but that's
pretty much because I put back in there the code exactly as it used to
be before the regression. I still add a call to pci_set_power_state()
at the end so that ACPI gets called appropriately on x86.

radeonfb and aty128fb have a special hook called by the PowerMac platform
code very very early on resume from sleep to bring the screen back. This
is useful for debugging wakup problems, but unfortunately, this also became
a source of problems of its own.
The hook is called extremely early, with interrupts still off, and the code
path involved with that code nowadays rely on things like taking mutexes,
GFP_KERNEL allocations, etc...
In addition, the driver now relies on the PCI core to restore the standard
config space before calling resume which doesn't happen with this early
code path.
I'm keeping the code in but commented out along with a fixup call to
pci_restore_state(). The reason is that I still want to make it easy to
re-enable temporarily to track wake up problems, and it's possible that
I can revive it at some stage if we make sleeping things save to call
in early resume using a system state.
In the meantime, this should fix several reported regressions.

For historical reason, this driver used its own saving/restoring
of the PCI config space, and used the state of it on resume as
an indication as to whether it needed to re-POST the chip or not.
This methods breaks with the later core changes since the core will
have restored things for us.
This patch fixes it by removing that custom code, using standard
core methods to save/restore state, and testing for the need to
re-POST by comparing the content of a few key PLL registers.

This fixes aty128fb to properly save the PCI config space -before- it
potentially switches the PM state of the chip. This avoids a
warning with the new PM core and is the right thing to do anyway.
I also replaced the hand-coded switch to D2 with a call to the
genericc pci_set_power_state() and removed the code that switches it
back to D0 since the generic code is doing that for us nowadays.

I also slightly cleaned up the code that checks whether we are
running on a PowerMac to do a runtime check instead of a compile

Finally, I removed the useless switch to D0 from resume since

Since the complete re-write in 2.6.10, some PowerMacs (At least PowerMac 5500
and PowerMac G3 Beige rev A) with ATI Mach64 chip have suffered from unstable
columns in their framebuffer image. This seems to depend on a value (4) read
from PLL_EXT_CNTL register, which leads to incorrect DSP config parameters to
be written to the chip. This patch uses a value calculated by aty_init_pll_ct
instead, as a starting point.
There are questions as to whether this should be extended to other platforms
or maybe made dependent on specific chip types, but in the meantime, this has
been tested on various powermacs and works for them so let's commit it.

This new color expansion acceleration for radeonfb appears to trigger
problems with X on VT switch and suspend/resume on some machines. It
might be a problem in the VT layer or in X, but I haven't quite found
it yet, so in the meantime, this disables the acceleration by default,
reverting to 2.6.27 state. It can be enabled using the "accel_cexp"
module parameter or fbdev argument.

Implement support for HW color expansion of 1bpp images, along with some
improvements to the FIFO handling and other accel operations.
The offset fixup code is now unnecessary as the fbcon core will call our
set_par upon switch back from KD_GRAPHICS before anything else happens. I
removed it as it would slow down accel operations.
The fifo wait has been improved to avoid hitting the HW register as often,
and the various accel ops are now performing better caching of register
values.
Overall, this improve accel performances. The imageblit acceleration does
result in a small overall regression in performances on some machines (on
the order of 5% on some x86), probably becaus the SW path provides a
better bus utilisation, but I decided to ingnore that as the performances
is still very good, and on the other hand, some machines such as some
sparc64 get a 3 fold performance improvement.

Some chips appear to have the 2D engine hang during screen redraw,
typically in a sequence of copyarea operations. This appear to be
solved by adding a flush of the engine destination pixel cache
and waiting for the engine to be idle before issuing the accel
operation. The performance impact seems to be fairly small.
Here is a trace on an RV370 (PCI device ID 0x5b64), it records the
RBBM_STATUS register, then the source x/y, destination x/y, and
width/height used for the copy:

When things are going fine the copies complete before the next ROP is
even issued, but all of a sudden the 2D unit becomes active (bit 17 in
RBBM_STATUS) and the FIFO retry (bit 13) and FIFO pipeline busy (bit
14) are set as well. The FIFO begins to backup until it becomes full.
What happens next is the radeon_fifo_wait() times out, and we access
the chip illegally leading to a bus error which usually wedges the
box. None of this makes it to the console screen, of course :-)
radeon_fifo_wait() should be modified to reset the accelerator when
this timeout happens instead of programming the chip anyways.

Another quirk is that these copyarea calls will not happen until the
first drivers/char/vt.c:redraw_screen() occurs. This will only happen
if you 1) VC switch or 2) run "consolechars" or 3) unblank the screen.
This seems to happen because until a redraw_screen() the screen scrolling
method used by fbcon is not finalized yet. I've seen this with other fb
drivers too.
So if all you do is boot straight into X you will never see this bug on
the relevant chips.

I have a new PCI-E radeon RV380 series card (PCI device ID 5b64) that
hangs in my sparc64 boxes when the init scripts set the font. The problem
goes away if I disable acceleration.
I haven't figured out that bug yet, but along the way I found some
corrections to make based upon some auditing.
1) The RB2D_DC_FLUSH_ALL value used by the kernel fb driver
and the XORG video driver differ. I've made the kernel
match what XORG is using.
2) In radeonfb_engine_reset() we have top-level code structure
that roughly looks like:
if (family is 300, 350, or V350)
do this;
else
do that;
...
if (family is NOT 300, OR
family is NOT 350, OR
family is NOT V350)
do another thing;
this last conditional makes no sense, is always true,
and obviously was likely meant to be "family is NOT
300, 350, or V350". So I've made the code match the
intent.

Remove dead code. This will slightly change the behaviour of the driver
on systems that support backlight control. Previously they would just
turn the backlight off using the backlight control but now the generic LCD
code will also turn off the LCD using the POWER_MANAGEMENT register.

Current kernel builds warn about:
drivers/video/aty/radeon_base.c: In function 'radeonfb_pci_register':
drivers/video/aty/radeon_base.c:2334: warning: ignoring return value of 'sysfs_create_bin_file', declared with attribute warn_unused_result
drivers/video/aty/radeon_base.c:2336: warning: ignoring return value of 'sysfs_create_bin_file', declared with attribute warn_unused_result
Do minimal checking of these functions and issue a warning if either
fails. They don't seem to be critical..

There is no reason to drive the radeon I2C buses at such a low speed, so bump
it from 12.5 kbps to 50 kbps. The Intel (i810) and Matrox framebuffer drivers
already run their I2C bus at this speed.

Fix CONFIG_FB_RADEON_DEBUG. DEBUG must be defined before including any kernel
header, otherwise dev_dbg() resolves to a no-op. Also, when debugging is
disabled, don't set DEBUG at all instead of setting it to 0, to comply with
what the kernel headers expect.

Remove warning from powerpc ppc64_defconfig builds:
drivers/video/aty/radeon_pm.c:30: warning: 'radeon_reinitialize_M10' declared 'static' but never defined
It's used only under CONFIG_PM, and only with CONFIG_X86 before it is
defined, so the forward declaration can be moved under the ifdef.

* Convert files to UTF-8.
* Also correct some people's names
(one example is Eißfeldt, which was found in a source file.
Given that the author used an ß at all in a source file
indicates that the real name has in fact a 'ß' and not an 'ss',
which is commonly used as a substitute for 'ß' when limited to
7bit.)
* Correct town names (Goettingen -> Göttingen)

Make radeonfb work ith the 200m Xpress RC410. In my tests it was terribly
unstable and would freeze until I set a refresh rate in the kernel argument
to 75.
e.g video=radeonfb:1280x800@75
